The 2D profile scanner is very effective in capturing the geometry of smaller parts that can’t be checked with
an optical comparator. For sophisticated contour analysis, the Contracer captures exact profile details. We translate
the data for analysis to CAD software and plot the results. Profile geometry can be dimensioned for analysis or
be overlaid on a CAD model to inspect for deviations from design.
Typical jobs used on the Contracer are profile inspection for small gear teeth, internal threads, flat serrations,
turbine blade root design, face threads, fine details in small molds, and even golf ball dimples. |
