As part of the Edison family we have extensive experience in the repair of equipment inclusive in the steam
path. At our facility in Westminster, CA we specialize in the repair, modification, and rebuilding of turbine rotors,
turbine shells, diaphragms, turbine blades, stop valves, nozzles, and turning gears. These activities include blading,
balancing, part manufacturing, NDE, and CMM inspections.
We can solve steam turbine problems by performing engineering steam path audits, patented steam path modifications,
and complete turbine overhauls.
Turbine blade repairs are often slow, tedious, and operator intensive. Edison ESI has developed the tooling, processes,
and cooling methods and combined them with accuracy, speed and consistency of automatic welding. This process facilitates
blade alignment with minimum weld distortion. The results are increased productivity, improved quality, and cost
savings for our customers.

Steam Path Efficiency Audits
|
Occasionally it pays to open a steam turbine, have independent turbine engineers evaluate the condition, identify
potential repairs, and calculate the present worth of annual fuel savings based on the recommended repairs. Edison
ESI audits consist of a complete visual inspection, photographs, and detailed inspection measurements plus any
unique customer requirements. A full and detailed report listing specific repairs and cost calculations can be
provided.

Automated Turbine Ultrasonic Inspection System
|
Fractures or cracks in turbine blade tenons are one of the most common problems encountered. Current nondestructive
methods are unreliable due to the location of failure (hidden under the shroud). Our Tenon Inspection System is
state-of-the-art ultrasonic data acquisition and imaging system specifically designed for inspection of turbine
blade tenons. We can assist you in your nondestructive needs.
