Transformer Repairs and Upgrades

We take advantage of the latest developments in transformer repair technologies and materials to provide you with
reliable repairs and effective upgrades. Repairs include: inspection, testing, refurbishment, core repairs and
restacking complete rewinds and LTC repairs and adjustments.
Upgrades include: KVA increases, voltage changes, clamping structure improvements, use of modern iron and insulating
materials.

Our staff of engineers can assist you in evaluating your transformer problems and recommending solutions. Your
transformer can be redesigned to meet your changing requirements for increased capacity, voltage or short circuit
duty improvements. We keep current with industry developments and technology to present you with state-of-the-art
repair options.
Edison ESI has the technology and resources to repair, rewind, overhaul and test transformers
up to 1370 MVA, and ratings to 500 KV. We have 250 tons lifting capacity with 70 ft useable crane hook height.
All test equipment is state-of-the-art, with calibrations kept current and traceable to NIST.
We perform all testing to applicable ANSI/IEEE Standards. Quality control procedures and inspectors ensure the
job is done right the first time.
The shop has an integral oil handling system with a decimated purification system and certified oil test laboratory
on site. Moisture is removed from core and coil assemblies using the shop's 40 ft by 20 ft by 25 ft heated vacuum
chamber.
