Edison ESI's Material Testing Laboratory, staffed by experienced chemists, performs oil quality and dissolved gas
analysis on electrical equipment. Good laboratory practices (GLP) are routinely employed meeting ASTM and SW846
requirements to ensure sample contamination does not occur. State-of-the-art robotic equipment assists in sample
preparation and analysis.
We offer 24 hour coverage with a turnaround time guaranteed to meet customer needs.

We perform oil quality analysis for: moisture, dielectric strength, power factor, interfacial tension, neutralization
number, and color.
Dissolved gas analysis is performed to evaluate and monitor operating conditions of transformers. It provides information
relating to the formation of gases which indicate localized over heating and under oil arcing problems of the oil
used to insulate and cool transformers.
Testing is also performed for PCB and halogen compound contamination, and flashpoint.
Our laboratory is certified by the California Department of Health Services. |
